Highlights from the AgriMENTAL LTTA “Train the Coaches” in Denizli, Türkiye

From 30 June to 2 July, the AgriMENTAL LTTA – Train the Coaches session was successfully implemented in Denizli, Türkiye. The training brought together project partners from France, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, and Türkiye, creating an important opportunity for learning, exchange, and cooperation.

Strengthening Coaching Skills for Farmers’ Mental Wellbeing

The LTTA was organised as part of Activity A2.7 and focused on strengthening the capacity of partners to apply coaching approaches that support mental health, psychological wellbeing, and resilience among farmers and agricultural workers.

Practical Training on Mental Wellbeing Techniques

During the training, participants facilitated and took part in practical sessions focusing on mental wellbeing techniques, stress management, resilience-building, communication, and coaching methods.

These activities helped participants better understand how preventive and educational approaches can be used in agricultural environments. Through interactive exercises and group reflection, the partners explored ways to support farmers in recognising stress, managing emotional challenges, and developing healthier coping strategies.

Field Tests and Local Agricultural Experiences

An important part of the LTTA was the implementation of field tests and practical activities in real agricultural settings. These activities allowed participants to connect the theoretical content of the AgriMENTAL project with the everyday realities of agricultural work.

The training also included discussions with local farmers, offering valuable insights into their experiences, needs, and challenges. These exchanges helped the consortium reflect on how the AgriMENTAL tools and coaching methods can be adapted to different rural and national contexts.

Connection Between Agriculture, Culture and Wellbeing

In addition to the training activities, participants had the opportunity to experience local food, traditions, and culture in Denizli. This cultural exchange strengthened collaboration among partners and highlighted the strong connection between agriculture, community, identity, and wellbeing.

The experience also supported a deeper understanding of the social and cultural dimensions of farming life, which are important when designing support tools for farmers and agricultural workers.

Discussions on the Next Project Steps

During the LTTA, partners also discussed the next steps for the development of Work Package 3 (WP3), led by LOV, as well as Work Package 4 (WP4).

The discussions focused on aligning methodologies, timelines, responsibilities, and quality benchmarks for the next implementation phase of the project. This ensured that all partners have a common understanding of the upcoming activities and the expected quality of the project results.
