AgriMENTAL Kick-off Meeting (KoM)

At 17 & 18 of December, the AgriMENTAL Kick-off Meeting (KoM) was successfully held in Kavala, Greece, bringing together representatives of the project consortium from France, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, and Türkiye. The meeting marked the official launch of the Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership project AgriMental – Human Sustainability and Psychological Wellbeing in Agriculture, which aims to strengthen mental health literacy and well-being practices within the agricultural sector across Europe.

During the two-day meeting, partners engaged in structured working sessions focused on the initial implementation phase and the coordinated development of key project outputs. Particular emphasis was placed on Work Package 2 (WP2) – Coaching Manual for VET Trainers on Predictors of Psychological Wellbeing in Agriculture, led by STANDO Ltd, and Work Package 5 (WP5) – Motivational and Promotional Campaign for Psychological Wellbeing Preservation. Partners aligned methodological frameworks, quality standards, timelines, and collaboration procedures to ensure coherence across activities and deliverables for the upcoming project period.

The programme was further enriched by experiential, field-based workshops hosted on farms across the wider Kavala region, enabling partners to explore real-life agricultural environments and discuss the links between farming practices, rural livelihoods, environmental conditions, and mental well-being. These site visits provided valuable insights into local agricultural realities, facilitated peer exchange with practitioners, and demonstrated how nature-based and work-based approaches can support psychological resilience in rural contexts.

By combining strategic planning sessions with hands-on learning in authentic agricultural settings, the Kavala KoM strengthened transnational cooperation and reinforced the project’s practice-oriented, evidence-informed, and community-embedded approach to promoting psychological well-being in agriculture. The meeting concluded with agreed action plans for the next implementation phase, including research activities, content development, and stakeholder engagement across partner countries.
